They say exercise is supposed to relieve tension and ease feelings of anger, but for one jogger, this clearly isn’t the case. Wayne Andrew Hearn, 38, has been charged over the death of father-of-seven Timothy Lang, who was 48 when he died.
In the build-up to the punch, the pair, who are believed to have known each other, launched into a heated exchange as Hearn ran past. In CCTV footage released after the incident, Hearn can be seen walking away after the attack, before returning to the scene of the crime to point and shout at his victim.Shocked onlookers can be seen crowding around Lang’s body and phoning the police. He was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away on Monday. CCTV footage of the incident has been released to the public.
Hearn hasn’t shown much remorse for his crime. Before being led out of the prisoner’s dock, he smiled and made gestures to the public. He was later spotted laughing in the back seat of a police car and smiling at the cameras as he left court.
While we might not like the presence of CCTV cameras on every street we walk down, there’s no denying that they are more often a help than a hindrance when it comes to solving crimes.
