Parker, Colorado. Body camera footage was released Thursday in the September shootout that left a Douglas County sheriff's detective critically injured and an suicidal suspect dead.
No officers will be charged in the killing of 40-year-old Randall Rodick. He was fatally shot by Parker police officer Ronnie Dorrell with one shot to the head during the Sept. 2 encounter near Sierra Middle School and Parker Adventist Hospital.
Rodick shot Det. Dan Brite in the chest before fleeing in a recreational vehicle, officials said. He then shot at officers and others before he was shot and killed by Dorrell.
Body camera footage shows Dorrell firing at Rodick from a rifle before running toward Rodick’s RV. Roderick is seen handcuffed on the ground outside the vehicle.
Officials said Dorrell fired from about 30 yards away with an AR-15 assault-style rifle while he was behind a civilian SUV.
