MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - A motorcyclist's helmet camera captured a man attacking him last month in Miami Beach, authorities said.
According to an arrest report, the victim was heading south in the 6300 block of Indian Creek Drive on Oct. 22 when a gray Mercedes-Benz sedan merged in front of him and came to a stop.
Video shows a man, identified by police as Kevin Machin, 27, getting out of the front passenger seat of the car and approaching the victim, saying "Sup?"
The victim said, "What?" before Machin struck him, knocking him off his motorcycle.
Police said Machin continued striking the victim as he was on the ground.
The video shows two men getting in between the victim and Machin in an effort to stop the fight.
"I do have anger issues," Machin told Local 10 News reporter Michael Seiden. "I'm Cuban. You know, I get it from my roots."
Police said the victim identified Machin through Instagram. The victim told Seiden that the two of them had previously gotten into a heated exchanged on Instagram over a woman.
"She went and told her boyfriend that I was trying to get at her, just because I told her that we don't need to be talking," Machin said.
Machin said several heated messages were exchanged, escalating to a series of threats.
"He said that he could have my motorcycle stolen and thrown into the Miami River," Machin said.
The damage sustained to the victim's 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle is estimated to be more than $1,000. Machin is also accused of damaging the man's $200 Sedici helmet.
Police went to Machin's home on Oct. 26 and placed him into custody. Detectives said they found drug paraphernalia, marijuana and a digital inside Machin's apartment.
He was arrested on charges of criminal mischief, battery, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
