Akron, Ohio Teen Facebook Live Streams Himself Shooting into His Neighbor's Home

AKRON, Ohio - A teenager was arrested in Akron after police say he fired shots into his neighbor's home.



Making the situation even more disturbing, the boy life streamed the shooting on Facebook. In a series of profanity-laced videos, the suspect is seen playing with guns and laughing before firing them.



The teen's neighbor, Tonya Watts, said she's grateful no one was hurt, but she's also very angry, calling what the 15-year-old boy did "idiotic."



It all happened on Bloomfield Avenue just before 9 p.m. Wednesday. News 5 is not naming or showing the face of the 15-year-old boy.



During the disturbing Facebook Live videos, he waved around a rifle and a .9 mm handgun, pointed both toward an open window and pulled the triggers.



The force of firing the handgun appeared to knock him to ground, causing the boy to laugh and curse.



The teen seemed to find the indiscriminate gunfire amusing, but at one point he covered the window with a curtain, seemingly concerned that he might get caught.



"Might get tricky," the teen is heard saying. "We can try again later."



But it was no laughing matter to Watts. Two or three shots struck the siding of her home.



"I heard the shot and I hopped up," she told News 5. "If you're just sitting in your house and you're watching television, you hear something like that, that would freak you out. It would scare you because I'm not used to hearing that."



Watts said the teen lives with his grandma and apparently was home alone.



The fact that the teen recorded the shooting on Facebook Live is outrageous and callous to Watts.



"It's awful," she said. "That's being an idiot."



The boy was arrested on weapons charges.



Police are still trying to figure out where he got the guns.



"The serial number will be recorded," said Akron Police Captain Dan Zampelli. "They'll check for stolen and if indeed it is stolen, he'll also be charged with receiving stolen property."
