A pregnant nurse in central China risked physical effects of exhaustion as she sprang to help a stranger who fainted on the street, winning praise online for her selfless, albeit potentially dangerous, act.
Footage shot on a mobile phone show expecting mom Zhou Qing kneeling on the ground and doing CPR on a man who had blacked out, not minding her big belly.
The touching scene took place on the streets of Xinxiang city, central China’s Henan Province. Zhou, who works in a local community hospital, happened to be passing by when the man lost consciousness after suffering from a cardiac arrest.
Without hesitation, the lady, who is in her seventh month of pregnancy, attempted to resuscitate the man, relentlessly pressing on his chest. She was able to bring him back to consciousness; however, needed assistance to get back on her feet after exerting much effort to secure her "patient" away from the danger zone.
Pregnant women are advised not to engage in strenuous or physically-demanding activities as they could endanger the fetus and mom-to-be.
