Peru: Locals teargassed after trying to burn thieves at police station

Locals clashed with police, in the Peruvian village of Colotta, Huari province on Wednesday as they tried to storm a police station to burn alive a group of cattle thieves.

Police used tear gas on the stick wielding villagers in attempts to regain control. The village patrol wanted to take justice into their own hands against the thieves who had stolen nine cattle and had been taken to the police station.
