Celebrities, businesses and singers fear Republican President-elect Donald Trump’s Twitter fury, asserting that Trump has the ability to send stocks tumbling at a moment’s notice, according to a Friday report from TMZ.
Former Eagles singer Joe Walsh gave TMZ a sneak peek into the world of celebrity fear of Trump in a Friday interview. “The president is ruthless on Twitter,” Walsh said during the interview. “Everybody’s afraid to get Twittered, you know? Stocks go up and down, that’s why. Everybody’s scared.”
“There’s a lot of fear out there, isn’t there? That’s the problem with America. I think artists should stay out of politics right now, wait and see what happens, then write songs,” Walsh concluded.
Although Walsh says celebrities fear Trump, a lot of celebs aren’t shy about their disdain for performing during the inauguration. Kanye West, Andrea Bocelli and Elton John all announced they would not be performing. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Rockettes are slated to perform during the festivities.
Past Trump tweets sent stocks tumbling for both Boeing and Lockheed Martin– two companies that depend on government contracts to build military aircraft for the American government.
