Turkish police and security forces detained around 400 suspected members of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) in nationwide raids, Sunday. Footage filmed in the Adiyaman Province shows Turkish security forces storming an apartment building where they detained several suspects.
As a result of the police and military operations, 150 suspects were detained in the Sanliurfa Province, which neighbours Syria, and 47 were detained in the nearby city of Gaziantep; 60, mostly foreign, suspects were detained in four districts in Ankara, while dozens more were taken into custody in other areas such as Bursa and Bingol.
Among those reportedly arrested were foreign nationals and several people suspected of planning attacks in Turkey.
