Dramatic footage shows the moment a 15-year-old boy is rescued from mud and quicksand by a Coastguard hovercraft crew.
The incident happened at Morecambe Bay and the emergency services were called by a family member.
The teenager's ordeal lasted more than two hours on Saturday afternoon.
Knott-End, Morecambe and Arnside Coastguard Rescue Teams, Morecambe Lifeboat hovercraft and the Coastguard helicopter based at Caernarfon were all sent to rescue the boy who was stuck in the mud.
He was eventually freed using specialist mud rescue equipment and was airlifted to hospital.
Morecambe RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Kevin Jackson, said: 'We were already out on exercise when tasked and so able to respond quickly to the incident; which illustrates how the various agencies combine together effectively to achieve positive outcomes.'
