Shocking footage has emerged showing a group of men clashing on the side of a road after a violent brawl broke out.
The video shows up to seven men throwing punches before the group spilled out onto a busy Auckland road on Saturday afternoon.
Violent scenes erupted on Te Irirangi Drive near the intersection of Great South Rd and Cavendish Drive as two men appeared to be stomped on after rolling into ongoing traffic.
As tensions boiled, the group were seen pushing, kicking and shoving as they lashed out at two men wearing blue t-shirts.
The fight seemed to end just under one minute, as the group of men were seen taking off from the scene.
It was unclear what sparked the incident - but the crowd dispersed as police arrived.
The attack took place just metres from the annual Polyfest event.
Polyfest event director Theresa Howard said organisers were working with police to identify the men in question.
'We've been confident and have the peace of mind knowing that the police have been able to handle situations that have occurred before they've escalated into anything more than that,' Ms Howard told NZ Herald.
'In terms of the video, we're not even sure if the people were associated or had earlier participated or visited the festival.'
The fight was caught on camera and then uploaded onto Facebook on Saturday night, which has since attracted more than 235,000 views.
'We appear to have had numerous calls about this incident and other general disorder/fighting outside Polyfest late yesterday afternoon/early evening,' A NZ police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.
'Police attended to disperse the crowds etc. It doesn't look like any arrests were made following the particular incident in the video - I imagine they were long gone by the time we arrived.'
