The US-led coalition has released footage of an air strike which it claimed destroyed an ISIS headquarters building in Mosul.
Officials from Operation Inherent Resolve said the Ashur Hotel on the banks of the River Tigris was targeted on March 10 because it had served as a military headquarters for ISIS.
Yahoo! News reported the area around the Ashur Hotel was captured by Iraqi forces four days later.
Iraqi forces are now pushing north from the Ashur Hotel into the districts of As Sarjikhanah, Bab at Tawb and Hayy as Sikkak.
But progress is slow and ISIS suicide bombers continue to strike behind the frontline.
Meanwhile Rudaw reported that six ISIS leaders, all of whom were foreigners, were killed in an air strike in Iraq but it was not clear if it was the same incident.
They were named as: Milaz Siru, a British citizen of Moroccan descent, Abdulkarim al-Rusi, a Russian, Saleh Ahmed, a French national, Abu Dihaa al-Maghribi and Abdullah Hamud who were both Moroccan, and Yousif Awni, a Turk.
