The suspect, Jon Webster Hay, 49, is accused of firing at officer Jarred Ciccone on Nov. 20.
Details of the shooting by the resident were released Monday by the state attorney's office.
Those details include an interview with Ciccone in which he says he believes Hay was trying to kill him, identification that it was a 10mm round that was used to shoot Ciccone, listing that Hay reportedly shot 28 rounds at officers after he reached his Sandcastle Road home — only striking their cruisers — with officers returning fire 14 times, grazing Hay once.

Hay is charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder on a law enforcement officer, one count of fleeing or eluding law enforcement with lights and sirens and shooting at or into an occupied vehicle. He remains in the Lee County jail on $8 million bond, A case management hearing for Hay is scheduled for March 29.
Hay was arrested by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement after he fired shots at law enforcement officers. He struck Ciccone, who was sitting in his patrol car filling out a report after a routine traffic stop in the vicinity of 2300 Periwinkle Way.
Ciccone was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital, treated and released shortly after the incident. Hay led officers on a manhunt, but was eventually taken into custody.

Other details include discovery of a loaded semiautomatic handgun in a fanny pack Hay was wearing, discovery of a Glock 10mm handgun purchased in August 2016 by Hay and extra ammunition-filled magazines for the gun, shining of a blue laser device at the LCSO helicopter by Hay.
