A furious aunt has pulled her nephew out of school after she saw video footage posted online of him being kicked and punched by bullies.
Kelly Martin, from Fleetwood, Lancashire, always encouraged 12-year-old Lennie Lake to go to school, telling him to ignore the bullies and concentrate on his studies - until she saw the video.
Lennie, who lives with his aunt, would tell his aunt he didn't want to go to school, but she was unaware of the full extent of what was going on.
And although 43-year-old Kelly would go to the school, she did not realise how torturous each day was him - until she saw the bullying for herself.
The 40 second video was taken by one of the participants and shows Lennie being pummelled with punches in his side as he is pinned to the ground.
A surrounding crowd are cheering at the beating.
As shy Lennie, who is in year eight, gets up and puts his arm out to keep his attacker away he then breaks into a run and the crowd jeers and then descends on him.
The footage has been shared on social media sites Snapchat and Instagram.Caring Kelly, who has custody of her nephew, said: 'The first I knew about this incident, the school phoned me up and told me Lennie had been in a fight.
'When Lennie came home I asked what he had been doing and sent him up to his room, and about five minutes later he came downstairs and showed me the video.
'He was very upset. It turned my stomach. I said to him 'I'm so sorry I doubted you'.
'I knew deep down that he wouldn't start a fight because he's usually such a good boy.'
Kelly got in touch with staff at Cardinal Allen School, Fleetwood, who took steps to reprimand the pupil responsible for posting the video.
Kelly, who also has a daughter, 16-year-old Maddison, who also attends the school, said: 'The bullying has been going on for over a year.'He comes home every night begging me to take him out of the school. He cries. I now realise going to that school is hurting him. People take their own lives when it comes to bullying. I have no choice but to take him out.
'I'd take my daughter out too if she wasn't just about to do her GCSEs.
'I'm not happy at the way they have dealt with Lennie's bulling.'
Lennie said: 'It makes me upset. The video was posted on Snapchat and Instagram and about three or four people sent it to me.
'I find it pathetic because it takes a bigger person to walk away, and people are laughing at me saying I ran away. Since the start of year eight I've been having problems with about seven people.
'They've let my tyres down on my bike on several occasions.'
Kelly said: 'l've got in touch with Lancashire Council about getting him somewhere else'.
Andrew Cafferkey, headteacher at Cardinal Allen Catholic High School, did not comment on the bullying allegations but said: 'The situation was dealt with and there was a consequence for the perpetrator.'
