Combined Armor and Infantry Assault: GoPro and Drone Footage

A combined armor and infantry assault against pro-Syrian government positions is filmed with body-worn GoPro cameras and multi rotor remote drones north of Hama.
The raid is well-planned as they send a main battle tank in to soften up suspected enemy fighting positions. Pro-Assad fighters can be seen scattering into retreat. Then, infantry troops are brought forward in armored personnel carriers. They dismount once they reach the edge of the built-up urban area and begin firing small arms. Their infantry techniques are far from impressive as they refuse to aim their rifles while haphazardly spraying past their forward deployed buddies. Yet, they only need to be better than their foes, who already began falling back at the first sign of a fight. A confused pro-regime technical truck makes the deadly mistake of attempting to drive past the fighters, and the occupants are killed with small arms fire.
The rebel group responsible for the raid and the footage is the newly coalesced Hay’at Tahrir ash-Sham (HTS), which is now one of the largest and best equipped rebel groups operating in Syria. The group is a merger of Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (formerly al-Qaeda’s al-Nusra Front), Ansar al-Din Front, Jaysh al-Sunna, Liwa al-Haqq, and the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement. The group is classified as a terror organization by the US, which is embarrassing considering the Obama Administration was feeding the Nour al-Din al-Zenki group TOW missiles and other weapons just last year, while calling them “moderate.”

The group is led by Hashem al-Sheikh, AKA Abu Jaber, the defected leader of the rival Ahrar al-Sham movement, but make no mistake, al Qaeda is where their true loyalty lies, and the al Qaeda ideology instilled as Syria’s government and rule of law is the end goal for this group.
