The footage was filmed in São Thomé das Letras, Brazil, in December.
It shows a mass of bizarre orange light totally illuminating the evening sky.
Numerous shocked locals can also be seen standing around taking pictures of the phenomenon.
Since it was posted on social media, it has attracted thousands of comments and shares.
And a number of internet users have speculated that it is the first sign of the mythical Nibiru is on a collision course for Earth.
For years, conspiracy theorists have a giant hidden planet is set to smash into Earth with catastrophic consequences.
The outlandish claims were bolstered among the "truth-seeking" community when NASA announced it discovered a new celestial body that it called Proxima b.
One Facebook user commented: "It's Nibiru: The star of the final judgment".
Another speculated: "Don't you think so too close to be Nibiru?"
But one remained unconvinced, joking: "And to our knowledge, Nibiru will only be visible to the naked eye according to the conspiracy theories from 2018."
