Over the weekend, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) told a massive falsehood about President Donald Trump not paying any taxes.
Waters was speaking at the Washington, D.C., Tax March on Saturday and acted like she sympathized with the hardworking taxpayers.
"Middle class and working people are filing their taxes; many are struggling, paying 30 and 35 percent of their earnings, more percentage-wise than big corporations in America," Waters bloviated, an ironic statement given that Waters typically votes against tax cuts.
Then Waters told her blatantly false claim about Trump.
"What is Donald Trump paying?" Waters asked, before answering her own question: "Nothing!" Other crowd members repeated that false claim.
"He is using every loophole, every trick to avoid paying his fair share of taxes," Waters said.
Waters must not have seen Rachel Maddow's biggest media reveal fail ever on MSNBC, where she inadvertently revealed that Trump paid a tax rate of 25 percent in 2005, a higher tax rate than Barack Obama and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Waters is therefore either woefully misinformed or lying through her teeth.
In the same rally, Waters also led an "Impeach 45" chant, although the reason for a Trump impeachment was not specified.
