Mount Etna continued to spit out plumes of ash and smoke, on the island of Sicily, as the volcano emitted lava onto its slopes, Thursday. The 3,329 metre (10,922 ft) high mountain has been erupting since Monday.
Mount Etna is Europe's most active volcano and lies between the cities of Messina and Catania. The current eruption originates from the south-eastern crater and is visible from as far as the east coast of Sicily.
The last time Etna erupted was in May 2016. The current eruption does not threaten nearby settlements, according to experts.
