Cincinnati, OH - Newly-released police body camera footage shows the scene around Bengals cornerback Adam Jones' arrest on Jan. 3.
A security guard at the Millennium Hotel accused Jones of "pushing and poking (him) in the eye," according to court documents. Police also said he refused to enter a police cruiser, pulling away, kicking and head-butting as he was being arrested.
The videos show a calmer scene in which Jones and others with him attempt to speak about the issue in order to avoid an arrest.
"I've got somebody alleging you committed an offense," an officer says to Jones in one video. "You don't want to discuss it. I don't have you side, do I? So yes, you're under arrest."
The video also shows Jones asking what he was being charged with -- assault, the officer says -- and the officer reading Miranda rights to Jones.
In another video released Monday, another man can be seen apologizing to a security guard and police. He said Jones had been drinking and offered to get him in a car and leave.
"That's not an option, he's going to jail," an officer says. "He's absolutely going to jail. Not for that; for what he did to me, frankly."
The officer also mentioned that Jones had been kicked out of the casino before he went to the hotel.
"His behavior's out of control," the officer says in the recording. "He's resisting and obstructing ... I know who he is. His behavior's unreasonable. Anybody else would get locked up for this, and so will he."
Another video, released in January, shows Jones in the back of a police vehicle, cursing at the arresting officer.
"I hope you die tomorrow," Jones says in that recording.
A pretrial hearing for Jones' case is scheduled for May 16. He's facing charges of assault and two other misdemeanors.
