A man has captured the heart-stopping moment a spider ensnared an entire scorpion in its web during a clash that took place on his bathroom wall.
Tim Hurley, from Kalorama, Victoria, spotted the two insects in an epic struggle in his own bathroom and filmed it on a web-cam, reports the Herald Sun.
The ghastly footage shows a small spider entangle the large scorpion in its web as it slowly wraps its prey in a neat bundle.
Mr Hurley was not sure what type of spider the predator was but assumed it was a daddy long legs.
The scorpion continued to struggle in its web prison until morning when Mr Hurley checked on the miniature beasts again.
'The scorpion was bigger than the spider... the next morning it was still kicking,' he said.
But that was when the scorpion met its fate, as the spider began consuming its much larger prey for breakfast.
Australia does not have any lethal scorpions and it is not uncommon for house spiders to kill and eat their stinging insect counterparts.
