Sydney Swan Gary Rohan has suffered a sickening fall when he attempted a mark before landing on his neck.
The 25-year-old speedster was contesting a courageous mark at the MCG during the match between the Sydney Swans and Carlton when he collided with a Blues player and landed dangerously on his neck.
While play continued Rohan was eventually removed from the field in a neck brace on a motorised stretcher.
The AFL confirmed Rohan was going to hospital but was awake, moving and talking to club staff.
'Gary Rohan is awake, moving and talking to club staff. He is being taken to hospital as a precaution,' the AFL's tweet read.
It is believed Rohan suffered heavy concussion.
Punters have taken to social media asking why the game was not stopped immediately.
