A teenager punched a woman during a brawl sending a bowl of hot noodles flying after telling her 'I'm the son of a policeman' in a bid to sneakily get her phone number while with his girlfriend.
The fight started minutes after Puen Thanachai, 19, approached two girls in Ko Samui, Thailand and asked one of the women for her contact details.
When she refused he became persistent and claimed to be the son of a policeman with an influential family before pulling out the line: 'Do you know who I am?'
Still unimpressed, the woman asked him to leave - but he became aggressive and slammed the table causing hot noodles to spill on her lap.
The woman, who has not been identified, then hurled a glass of water at him which sent him into a furious rage and he punched her.
Furious Puen - whose own girlfriend had been just a few metres away while he was flirting with others - then kicked the woman and choked her friend.
He threw a bowl of noodles at the woman and struck her face with another powerful punch and body with another kick.
CCTV footage from the Central Festival shopping centre and food court went viral after it was leaked online.
The girls who were attacked claimed the man had bizarrely given a false name to claim he was the son of a policeman and influential family in his failed bid to seduce them.
Lt. Tumla Sawangrat, Deputy Inspector of Ko Samui police, said they had spoken to one of the victims at the station and she had been checked for injuries.
He said: 'I know that this event occurred on the evening of May 6 after the victim has come to the inquiry and was questioned.
'The victim came with another girl who was eating at the table. There was a teenage Thai man walking to the table with a friend and interested in her phone number.
'But the victim refused and told the man to leave. This made the teenager dissatisfied and he said, 'Who are you? I'm the son of a policeman'.
'A fight then ensued. Initially, the victim was examined at the hospital. And we coordinated the police investigation into the area to find the teenage man.'
Officers said the case was later settled after the victim accepted 10,000 Thai baht in compensation in order to avoid 'prolonging the matter and upset her boyfriend'.
