You read that correctly! There has been another case of how miserably dismal our security is on our southern border. 38-year-old Constantino Banda-Acosta, a Mexican illegal immigrant, has been kicked out of the United States 15 times over the last 15 years. Now, because he was able to come back into the country, a small child has paid the price. The Sanctuary State of California decided that they will do nothing to assist ICE in their jobs of ensuring these criminals cannot be in this country. Now, another family suffers from their decision.
Police said Banda-Acosta was drunk behind the wheel of a pick-up truck when he ran a stop sign and slammed into a car with a family that had just left Disneyland, causing that car to plow through a guardrail. In the car was 6-year-old Lennox Lake, who suffered a major head injury in the crash. The group was about a block from their home when the collision happened.
When he was found in the wrecked vehicle, Lennox was unconscious, bleeding from several head wounds and not breathing. Lennox has undergone two surgeries, but he is expected to fully recover. Lennox’s parents only suffered minor injuries.
“Right now he has a lot of swelling and can’t open either of his eyes so he’s scared about why he can’t see,” his father Ben Lake told FOX5 while holding back tears. “I just really care about bringing him home and making sure he’s happy again.”
Banda-Acosta was being held on $100,000 bail and had an arraignment set for Wednesday. He was arrested in 2006 on a DUI charge, had his license suspended three other times and also was accused of a domestic violence incident by his estranged wife, 10 News reported.
