The gloves are off, literally.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was about to race onto the ice and play a game of hockey in Sochi on Wednesday when he was stopped and interviewed in the tunnel by CBS News correspondent Elizabeth Palmer.
Clad in full hockey getup, including skates and gloves, Putin was asked about how the firing of FBI Director James Comey will affect U.S.-Russian relations.
“There will be no effect,” Putin said through a translator. “Your question looks very funny for me, don’t be angry with me. We have nothing to do with that.”
Putin quickly expanded on the topic, saying, “President Trump is acting in accordance with his competence, in accordance with his law and constitution.”
