A mother spoke out this morning after a teacher at her daughter's high school celebrated Cinco de Mayo by having students bash a piñata with President Trump's picture on it. The teacher was placed on paid administrative leave while the Weld County, Colorado, school district investigates. The district took action after seeing Roosevelt High School students' Snapchat videos of the Spanish class "celebration."
Lesley Hollywood complained to the district, noting that the Mexican president's picture was also on the piñata. "We already live in such a divisive political climate. Why are we dividing these students even more?" she asked. Her daughter attends the high school but is not in that Spanish class.
