Staff at a Wollongong mobile phone store have shared footage of a 'w****r' stealing their charity box intended to help children living with cancer.
Security cameras captured the man stealing the tin from the Mobile Phone Hospital in Wollongong Central early Monday morning, just minutes after the store opened.
Upon discovering the tin had been taken, the store posted the security footage to their Facebook page with a message reading: 'Sorry CAMP QUALITY but this w****r just stole the charity tin that our wonderful customers filled up. Very Sad!'
'We will make it up to Camp Quality matching the money raised up in the next tin but in the mean time if you see this guy around please let us know.'
In the video a man can be seen reaching over the front display cabinet and lifting the tin onto the glass counter.
He then pulls out a set of bolt cutters and spends some time cutting through the wire cord before making off with the tin.
The store's manager told Daily Mail Australia that the day before another man had tried to make off with the donation box however failed because of the lead keeping it connected to the bench.
'One person tried to get away with the box the day before and then the next day the guy who got it came in,' he said. 'It cant be a coincidence, I would have to say they knew each other.'
Mr Bremner said the box had been there for about a year and a half and was upset it was taken.
'I'm quite disgusted. Who can steal from a charity box for kids? I've got kids myself and it's just sickening. We have the Camp Quality box there to help kids and then someone does this? It's disgusting.'
The manager said the man appeared to be in mid-40's with olive to tan skin and a beard.
'Looked like he might have been wearing a hi-vis top underneath his jacket,' Mr Bremner told DMA.
He can be seen wearing a green beanie and a black jacket with black pants and white sneakers.
Anyone who may be able to help Wollongong police identify the man or who knows anything should call 1800 333 000.
