CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. - An escaped inmate is back behind bars Wednesday night.
Marvin Taylor, 42, was wanted by authorities after he escaped from the Clarke County Jail.
Investigators said they found Taylor inside a store, but he ran when he saw the officers.
Police said they tried to stun him with a Taser, but that didn't work. Officers arrested Taylor after a struggle.
Two of the arresting officers suffered minor injuries. body cam video showing officers struggling with Taylor.
"He was in a work release program and failed to return. After 12 hours, when you fail to return to the program, a warrant is issued for your arrest," said Athens-Clarke County Police Spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez.
Body camera video recorded on Lt. Christopher Nichols shows Taylor run away when Nichols approaches him. Officers deployed a Taser, but the probes didn't make full contact and Talyor was able to remove them and run, according to police.
"When officers attempted to restrain Taylor physically, he began to fight. It was during the struggle to arrest Taylor when Lt. Nichols received fractures to a finger and SPO Gilchrist injured his right elbow. They'll need some time to recover, but they'll be back on the streets again soon," said Rodriguez.
