Moment motorbike thieves attack man with a fire extinguisher

A moped gang sprayed a fire extinguisher in the face of a biker as they tried to steal his motorcycle during a brazen attack.
The 58-year-old man was riding in Ilford, east London, when he was targeted by a crew of seven thugs who fired the substance in his face and sent him tumbling to the ground.
The gang then surrounded the rider but were unable to snatch his bike away and fled the scene.
The terrifying attempted raid was caught on the biker's helmet-camera and footage shows the dramatic moment the callous would-be thieves dangerously sprayed the fire extinguisher over his face, on April 18.
Two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old were arrested and subsequently released in relation to the incident, but the Metropolitan Police say inquiries are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Dean Grafton said: 'We are appealing for any information as to the identity and whereabouts of this gang that are clearly targeting motorcyclists in the east London area.
'They are often seen in pairs on mopeds or scooters and with a fire extinguisher to distract their victim with a view to stealing the motorbikes.
'If anyone has recorded video footage of the group, please can they contact us.'
Moped crime is becoming a scourge on London's streets with the number of offences rising by 600% in the last two years.
There were 7,668 incidents involving mopeds last year, with 4,647 in 2015 and 1,053 in 2014.
Hot spots for the crimes include Hackney, Islington, Camden and Westminster - with more than 9,900 moped, scooter and motorcycle thefts reported across London over the past year.
Often gangs will target people on their phones are perform drive by muggings, with the Met concerned that teenagers and young children are committing the crimes.
