At a joint press conference earlier today with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, President Donald Trump made sure to point out once again that there was no collusion with Russia when asked about the appointment of a special counsel in the Russia probe. However, he did add one caveat — he could only speak for himself, leaving open the possibility that he may let some of his associates and campaign staff be seen as culpable.
During a CNN panel discussion, CNN counterterrorism analyst Philip Mudd ripped the president for his comments today, calling him a narcissist who is only out for himself.
“We saw this within 24 hours of his inauguration,” Nudd stated, referencing Trump’s pushback on crowd size. “He doesn’t represent 320 million Americans. He represents one. And that’s Donald Trump.”
Besides commenting on how Trump acted today, Mudd went after the president for his Coast Guard Academy commencement speech in which he went on a tangent about how unfairly he’s been treated.
“We’ve seen it from day one,” Mudd noted. “He represents only himself.”
