A veteran South African big game hunting guide died Friday after an elephant that was shot by a member of his hunting party collapsed on top of him. On Friday, big game hunting guide Theunis Botha, 51, was on a hunting trip in Zimbabwe when he and his hunting party came across a breeding herd of elephants, according to News24. Per News24, three elephant cows from the herd charged at the hunters, and Botha shot at them. A fourth cow stormed them from the side. As that elephant lifted Botha with its trunk, another member of the hunting party fatally shot the cow, which collapsed on top of Botha, killing him.
