Bystanders have captured stark footage showing naked men vandalising a train using spray paint to create vile symbols and language before disappearing into the bush.
Mike and his wife, Belinda, spotted two brazen vandals - one wearing a white mask the other a blue clown wig to hide their identity - spray painting the side of a Melbourne train in Gardenvale station while naked.
'They wrote quite explicit language and drawings, as you could imagine, and then did little Toyota jumps and the train took off and they ran back into the bushes,' Belinda told 3AW's Tom Elliot.
'I certainly have not seen anything like that at Gardenvale station.'
A Metro Trains statement said the behaviour of the vandals was dangerous and costs the State Government $10 million a year to clean up.
'This video displays extremely extremely dangerous and risky behaviour as these people are on the tracks. It is also very disappointing to see people graffiti a train,' the statement read.
'We share community concern about graffiti and spend more than $10 million on the issue every year. This is money that could be better spent improving the network.
