Shocking footage has emerged of a mass brawl involving around 40 people which left several injured at a drinking hotspot in Newcastle at the beginning of the Bank Holiday weekend.
One man was hospitalised after sustaining facial injuries during the fight, while another man was arrested on suspicion of assault.
In the short clip, crowds of people can be seen enjoying the evening sun in what appears to be the beer garden of Tyne Bar, on the northern banks of the River Tyne in the city centre in northeast England.
Dozens of men threw punches and kicked and shoved each other in the dramatic footage.
Several people were thrown to the ground while others ran away to escape the scary scene.
It is not clear how or why the fight broke out on Friday evening.
The chaotic crowd was at least momentarily dispersed when something was thrown down from the top of the grass on top of the bunch of brawlers.
Tyne Bar was closed for the rest of the evening as paramedics tended to the injured and sent one man to hospital.
The video footage has emerged as a police investigation continues.
A Northumbria Police spokesman told Chronicle Live: 'There was an incident just after 7pm on Friday.
'A male has been arrested and another male was treated for facial injuries, but they are not thought to be serious.
'There has been one arrest and inquiries are ongoing.'
A spokeswoman for the North East Ambulance Service told the paper: 'We were called at 19.09 to reports of around 40 people involved in a brawl outside Tyne Bar.
'We deployed one rapid and an ambulance crew, and the police were on scene.
'We treated three people at the incident and have taken at least one person to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary.'
After the fight dissipated a 6ft fence was erected at the bottom of the bank, according to the Mirror.
The fence was reportedly put up to stop members of the public from entering the bar's private area.
