In a mini mockumentary spoofing A&E’s reality TV show Intervention, Chelsea Handler sets up a Trump News Cycle intervention for a man who’s obsessed.
Whether the stories we see on TV are “fake news” or not, it’s almost always centering on Donald Trump. He’s long been a mainstay in the daily news, with the stories generally being less than flattering. But, good or bad, there are people out there who are so obsessed with Trump they just can’t get enough.
In a new sketch made for the Netflix series Chelsea, host Chelsea handler stages an “intervention” for a man addicted to Trump news. Comedian David Koechner plays the man in question, and it’s one of the funnier segment to come out of Handler’s show in recent memory.
The man’s family show their concern for the poor guy, who’s been obsessed since Trump’s campaign. No matter what they do, they just can’t pry him away from the televised stories about the president. He gets so desperate for more he even hires a prostitute just to use the news apps on her phone. I guess it just seems there is no helping some people. What’s sad is that there are some out there who really act this way.
