CCTV footage has captured the moment a woman fought back against a man who tried to steal her handbag but clumsily tripped over during his getaway.
The man attempted to rob the woman at Darra railway station in Brisbane's south about 5.30am Monday morning.
In the video, the woman can be seen walking up a flight of stairs while a man dressed in black with red shoes and a blue cap stalks her.
He then closes in on the woman at the top of the stairs and swipes her pink handbag.
The woman immediately gives chase as the man struggles to gain his footing while attempting to run away.
He then trips over his own feet and clumsily slams into a wall as the handbag's contents fly across the floor.
The woman appears eager to capitalise on her advantage and leaps on top of the man and recaptures her handbag.
He then regains his feet and sprints away from the scene.
The woman was treated at the scene with minor injuries, Queensland police said.
Police have described the man as Asian in appearance, in his early 20s and around 168cm tall.
The man is believed to be part of a three-man group wanted for a string of other robberies to occur on Monday morning.
Police said the man was involved in the theft of a black Holden Commodore about 2am.
The man was seen exiting the stolen vehicle before he attempted to steal the woman's handbag, police said.
A third incident occurred about 6.50am when three men exited the stolen vehicle and suspiciously followed a woman.
Shortly after the group stole a handbag and a blue Kia Cerato from a woman in nearby Inala, police said.
