Workers secretly filmed tossing live chickens like rag dolls

An undercover animal rights campaigner allegedly filmed live chickens being stamped on and torn apart by factory workers.
The disturbing footage, reportedly taken at an Elite Farm Services plant in Chilliwack, Canada, shows people tearing birds limb from limb and simulating sex acts with them.
The company claims six employees have been fired since the video, filmed between May 10 and June 9, came to light.
The Canadian Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals (SPCA) has now launched an investigation, reports The Vancouver Sun.
Dwayne Dueck, president of Elite Farm Services said: 'We are sickened with the footage and want to ensure all our suppliers and producers that this is not reflective of who we are, our fundamental beliefs or behaviour we accept from our employees.'
The Mercy for Animals volunteer who got the job with the company claims they witnessed animal abuse 'pretty much immediately' after starting work.
Lindsay Wolf, vice-president of investigations for Mercy for Animals, said: 'The whistleblower simply applied to work at this facility just like any other employee and they worked the job they were hired to do
'They covertly then recorded evidence while employed at Elite Farm Services
'The abuse started pretty much immediately after the whistleblower started working at this facility. Hitting, kicking, throwing birds, smashing them into walls, into transport crates — things like that were documented very early on in the case.'
The videos reportedly show several workers and a supervisor.
Elite is a licensed chicken-catching service, which is hired to round up birds for transport to a slaughter plant.
Workers at the factory are believed to be paid around $14 an hour for shifts lasting from 11pm to 7am.
