Terrifying moment driver repeatedly smashes into two cars

A motorist on a bizarre rampage was filmed reversing and accelerating his car between two other vehicles, ramming into them both before driving in reverse down a busy highway.
The man was sitting in traffic in Port Melbourne when he accelerated violently and collided with the back of a white SUV, then quickly put his car into reverse and slammed into the front of the car behind him.
He rammed into the red Suzuki Swift twice before it drove away, and then hit the vehicle in front again as car horns rang out and the man behind the camera reacted with shock, Nine News reports.
After smashing both vehicles, the black Holden Astra then zoomed back down the highway out of sight in reverse, narrowly missing the cars travelling around it.
The car came to a final stop against a building fence and witnesses were able to corner the vehicle and crowd around the man to ensure he did not flee.
It took several attempts to put the man, who appeared to be intoxicated, into the back of a police van.
The man was taken to a police station following the incident.
