A father in Algeria will be spending two years behind bars for risking the life of his infant son for a few "likes" on social media.
According to the BBC, the unidentified father sparked panic on Sunday when he posted a picture of him dangling his child out of a 15th-floor apartment window in Algiers.
In the caption, the man wrote that if he didn't get 1,000 likes on the photo he would "drop him."
Facebook users were rightly outraged over the sick stunt — which eerily resembled the time the late Michael Jackson dangled son Prince over a hotel balcony — and quickly alerted authorities, who arrested the father.
"What is most striking is that it appears that the father is carrying his son with his left hand while using his right to take the picture," one commenter wrote on the photo, according to local media outlets. "This means the picture is more important than the child's life."
The father was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sentenced Monday to two years in prison.
