In a case that generated many days of rioting in the streets of Milwaukee last summer a Jury has acquitted another police officer after shooting a black man. The former officer Dominique Heaggan-Brown, who is also African American was found not guilty of first degree reckless homicide. Heaggan-Brown shot 23-year-old Sylville Smith after a brief foot chase following a traffic stop Aug. 13. Smith's death stirred up already simmering tensions among black Milwaukee residents and police, causing massive demonstrations in the streets hours after the shooting happened.
