Cops arrested two unruly members of a punk rock band as they were holding a sidewalk concert on a Lower East Side street.
The band Beechwood was playing on Orchard St. near Grand St. around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday when cops started to break up the show, officials said.
Drummer Dorian Tineo, 24, allegedly threw a beer at one of the officers and climbed out of a police cruiser after being cuffed. Bassist Sidney Simons, 21, was arrested after he tried to let his bandmate out of the squad car and spit in one cop’s face, according to a criminal complaint. The band said in a Facebook post the cops used excessive force during the confrontation which was partially captured on video.
