FROM MAIL ONLINE - Newly released video shows how three California inmates broke out of a maximum security prison this year, and offers snapshots of their nearly a week on the run.
NBC 4 Los Angeles obtained the video through an attorney connected to the case.
The more than 15-minute-long video is narrated by one of the escapees, 37-year-old Hossein Nayeri, who details how they broke out of the Central Men's Jail in Santa Ana, California and how they spent their brief few days of freedom.
Nayeri's story notably diverges from law enforcement's version of events, which said that the trio escaped after a 5am head count on January 22, crawling through a vent to get onto the roof and then repelling to the ground with a chain of bed linen.
