Shocking cellphone video has captured the moment a New Jersey bus driver began brawling with another man as his horrified passengers looked on.
In the 45-second clip, posted to Facebook on Monday, the unidentified driver begins fighting just steps away from the passenger-filled No 5756 bus.
An onlooker is seen trying to break up the fight before the driver gets back on the bus. The pair are seen trading jabs until, at one point, the man knocks the transit worker to the ground.
The driver is seen running after the man before he gives up and makes his way back to the bus.
An onlooker then tells the driver: 'You know you shouldn’t be doing that because he’s a minor, and you could be in trouble.' It’s unclear if the man was riding the bus before the fight broke out.
It’s also not clear where the brawl took place, but it appears to have been shot at the Bergen Street bus stop near University Hospital in Newark.
Off-camera, the man recording the video states: 'Only in the hood you see this s**t right here. That's crazy.' The video has been seen more than 48,000 times and shared more than 1,300 times.
NJ Transit told News 4 New York that the bus driver involved in the brawl, which took place on July 17, has been taken out of service and that an investigation is pending.
The incident comes less than a week after MTA security guard Luis Roman was recorded swinging a machete and fighting with another man on the Upper West Side of New York City.
He was arrested shortly after the fight and faces charges of assault, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing
