The man was "seriously wounded" near the northern port town of Boulogne-sur-Mer and was allegedly driving the BMW used in the attack in the capital just hours earlier.
He was shot five times, while an officer was also hit by a bullet in the thigh before the man was arrested, a source revealed.
The attack occurred in Paris' Levallois-Perret area as the car, allegedly "parked up in wait close to a barracks", suddenly accelerated and struck the servicemen "at high speed".
The wounded soldiers had been on a routine patrol as part of Operation Sentinelle, which was created after Islamic extremist attacks in 2015.
