An ex- Russian international footballer was attacked by his former club's supporters after wearing a rival team's scarf outside their stadium.
Dramatic footage captured one time FC Zenit striker Aleksandr Panov being kicked and verbally abused by club supporters while one man hurled a coin at him.
Mr Panov, 41, was targeted by irate fans after wearing a Spartak Moscow scarf. The team, whom the footballer supports, are bitter rivals of FC Zenit.
Crowds were angry at their former star, who was born in St Petersburg, for not supporting the club ahead of a clash between the two teams.
