he president confronted the media on their coverage of the Russian collusion story on Thursday.
President Trump tore apart the media’s Russia collusion narrative while speaking to the press at his golf course in Bedminster, NJ on Thursday.
“If you think about it, I want a strong military. You see our budget – it will be up by, it will be hundreds of billions of dollars soon, our military budget. Russia doesn’t like that,” Trump said.
Trump compared his plans to those of Hillary Clinton: “Hillary was going to cut the [military] budget, substantially.”
The president also touted his efforts to improve natural gas production, pointing out that the United States had become an exporter of the resource.
Whose economy depends on natural gas exports and would be adversely affected by the United States entering the market? Russia, whose top three exports are crude petroleum, refined petroleum, and petroleum gas.
“Low energy prices [are] a disaster for Russia,” Trump said.
The president also accused Russia of collaborating with Democrats to create the “fake” FusionGPS Trump Dossier, which made salacious allegations about his connections to Russia.
“Plus, the Democrats colluded [with] the Ukraine,” Trump also pointed out, referencing Democratic efforts to work with the Ukrainian government to derail the Trump campaign.
