Video from a protest outside Trump Tower in New York City on Monday showed protesters chanting, “New York hates you!” as President Trump returned to his home.
Throughout the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton had used the refrain, “Love trumps hate” to imply that ‘love’ motivated her supporters, while Trump’s supporters were motivated by ‘hate.’
The chant, repeated by hundreds of left-wing protesters this week, suggests that Clinton’s refrain may have falsely diagnosed the motivations of her supporters.
