Fairbanks Police released dashcam and bodycam video today, showing the dramatic end to a high-speed pursuit earlier this year. Dashcam shows the suspect, 23-year-old Christopher Buck crash into a police vehicle on a highway on-ramp. Officers then surrounded the vehicle and open fire, fatally striking the driver.
Police Chief Brad Johnson released a statement saying: "“At the time the officers fired their weapons they all believed that they or their fellow officers were about to be killed or gravely injured by Buck. Not only had Buck repeatedly used the truck as a weapon, but he had also used his handgun to fire at them during the pursuit.”
Christopher Buck was wanted on three felony arrest warrents at the time and was also driving a stolen vehicle.
