Protesters angry that a white police officer was found not guilty in the shooting death of a black man following a high-speed chase in 2011 demonstrated Friday in the streets of St. Louis.
Will Carr reported from the scene that several protesters jumped atop a cruiser and smashed its windshield.
Behind Carr, police could be seen lined up in riot gear as several people stood a few feet away shouting insults and reportedly throwing the occasional piece of debris.
The protests materialized after former Officer Jason Stockley was acquitted of first-degree murder in the killing of Anthony Smith.
Gov. Eric Greitens (R-Mo.) called in the National Guard earlier Friday to assist the officers.
