A teenager is facing police charges after he allegedly attacked a homeless man with a pallet.
Shocking mobile phone footage appears to show a 14-year-old boy approaching a rough sleeper and smacking him across the face with a plastic crate.
According to the homeless man, who has been identified as 64-year-old Harold Bartlett, the teen hit him twice - though only one strike was apparently recorded.
The 64-year-old also claims a knife was then pulled on him.
The video showing the crate hitting Harold was widely shared across social media.
It led to the arrest of a teenager in Bakersfield in California, US, reports 23ABC News.
Mr Bartlett claimed to the network: "He comes round the corner and I was sitting down and he hit me right there.
"They take advantage of me many many times, when the officers are not around."
The video shows the man sitting, minding his own business, when a teenager - said to be part of a group - approaches him.
The boy allegedly uses a pallet to whack Harold around the side of the head, causing him to fall sideways. The 'cruel' video was posted on Facebook last week.
It has since been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.
