The series kicked off in 2000, exploring the homes of the likes of Destiny’s Child, Ja Rule, Robbie Williams and, of course, Hugh Hefner. The episode featuring the Playboy mansion was a landmark at the time, giving fans a glimpse into the raucous world of the magazine mogul, who famously hosted many sordid parties and filled his house with scantily clad women. Hugh bought the famous pad for $1 million 45 years ago.
The progamme took a look around the property’s legendary ‘grotto’ – a section of his swimming pool he had built so that he could host private parties in the hidden jacuzzis. It was said he would host up to 16 women in there at one time.
‘What happens in the grotto stays in the grotto,’ bunny Holly Madison told the camera. Hugh also revealed in the programme he employed 80 staff to run the place, including butlers and a full kitchen team to freshly prepare him food.
