Jailed OJ Simpson is expected to be released from prison in the next “few days” and will celebrate by buying the latest iPhone”, according to his lawyer.
The disgraced American football star, 70, can be released from Sunday after serving nine years for armed robbery.
He was granted parole at a hearing in July.
His lawyer, Malcolm LaVergne, has told the “arrangements” being made for Simpson’s release including his plans to return to Florida where he has a home.
Speaking on ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday, the attorney said:"October 1st falls on a Sunday and except for essential workers, I think it’s going to be highly unlikely that the Nevada Department of Corrections is going to have any type of resources to be able to transport Mr Simpson anywhere.
