A brave wife stood up to a gunman when he confront her and her husband in a terrifying stand-off.
But her other had a very different reaction when he drove off and left his wife to face the armed thug alone.
A neighbour filmed the extraordinary scene from an upstairs window showing teacher Mrs Meral standing up to the crazed gunman.
She tries to disarm him but he pushes her away.
Under the stress of the situation, she faints and the gunman seems to stop to check on her.
Eventually she comes round, as the clip shows her husband Ibrahim driving away in a car.
The woman then once more tries to disarm the man but he holds on to one pistol.
She even tugs roughly at his shirt despite the risk of being shot.
He fires into their air to scare her off, at which point three men get out of a van and one takes over confronting the gunman.
It was not clear whether the men were plain clothes police officers but Turkish media reported that the gunman was arrested soon afterwards.
No one is thought to have been injured during the incident in Corum province in Turkey.
It was not clear why National Education Directorate inspector Ibrahim drove away from his wife.
At one point in the video he was heard shouting: "Help me, in the name of God, isn’t there anybody who will help me?".
The assailant was named as Ahmet Fevzi B.
Turkish media reported that he had an ongoing feud with the couple for unknown reasons.
He has reportedly already been sentenced and jailed, though Turkish media did not specify on what charges or for how long.
